Bridget Jones Is Back! Renée Zellweger Promotes the Movie in Style - See All Her Premiere Looks Through the Years
The actress's effortless sense of style hasn't changed a bit since the first film
As any romantic comedy aficionado will tell you, there’s only a handful of films that are universally considered to be perfect examples of the genre, and Bridget Jones’s Diary is just such a film. And now everyone’s favorite bumbling blonde Brit forever in search of her true soul mate/dropping another ten kilos or so is back on the big screen as the film’s star Renée Zellweger stepped out in Australia for the first press event for the film’s latest installment.
On Monday, Zellweger attended a press call in Sydney to celebrate the premiere of the third chapter in the film franchise, Bridget Jones’s Baby. For the occasion, the actress posed with her co-star Patrick Dempsey wearing a Gabriela Hearst silk polka dot burgundy shirtdress, cinched at the waist with a slight slit at the knees, plus a pair of nude snakeskin Brian Atwood heels and her blonde hair worn down in loose waves.
While Renée was the picture of effortless chic at this latest photo opp, it turns out nothing’s really changed over the past almost two decades, as a quick look back at Bridget Jones premieres will prove the actress has always had the same sense of breezy, feminine style.
For the film’s sequel premiere, Renée switched up her look, ditching her usual blonde locks for a deep chestnut brown hue which contrasted beautifully with the lush, red brocade of her strapless dress with gold beaded embellishment. And of course, who could forget her red carpet look at the movie’s first premiere:
For the debut of the now iconic film, Zellweger struck a pose alongside her male leads, showing off her then newly svelte post-Bridget body in a fully sheer black striped dress with strategically placed opaque panels. As Marc Darcy might say, we like all these outfits very much. Just as they are.
