Red Carpet Trend Report: The Scoop on Jumpsuits, T-Strap Heels and the Belt That's Taking Too Much Room

In our weekly roundup of the looks that are gaining fashion ground (and the ones losing their style street cred), we saw tons of chic onesies and ladylike shoes, but a downtick in this waist-cinching style.

Up: Jumpsuits. It appears that some of our favorite women of Hollywood have grown tired of their LBDs, opting instead for something with a little more flair. Rose Byrne (left) is no stranger to this style (just look at the highly-embellished Elie Saab piece she wore to the 2012 SAG Awards), and this time around she selected a strapless silver Max Mara creation with wide-leg bottoms, which are spot on for summer trends. Sophia Bush was also spotted in a sexy tuxedo-inspired version, while Jamie King sported a simple all-black Jason Wu design. With their one-piece ease, you can be sure that we will be seeing plenty more of these on the red carpet this summer.

Up: T-Strap Heels. The ladies wearing this trend have their style down to a T (sorry, we couldn’t resist). While everyone else is probably staring at Carrie Underwood’s (center) Rubin Singer chevron-printed dress, we were more focused on her feet — more specifically, her Henri Lepore Dezert black pumps. Kiernan Shipka (our fave 14-year-old style star) also adorned her feet with a pair of fancy black-and-gold sandals and Krysten Ritter also chose a pair of strappy metallic pumps.

Down: Big Belts. This style comes back around every so often, but with more flowy summer styles in at the moment, they’re a little too structured for the season. Eva Longoria’s (right) oversize belt seems a little intense when compared to the lightened-up looks everyone else is sporting. But don’t toss yours just yet — when fall’s bulkier fabrics return, we might be needing these wide waist cinchers.

Which of these trends will you try? Which will you skip? Tell us in the comments!
