Rebel Wilson got candid about struggling to find clothing in her size before making it in Hollywood.

The Pitch Perfect actress, 39, reveals that before the fashion industry became a more inclusive space, she actually used to miss out on major events because she couldn’t find clothing in her size.

“I remember I didn’t even go to a friend’s wedding in my 20s because I didn’t know where to buy a dress in my size,” Wilson says in an interview with InStyle for her new cover story.

But now, thanks to the help of her stylist Elizabeth Stewart, all of that has changed. “Through working [with her], I’ve learned all these little tips and tricks — and they really work. Then you feel more comfortable when you have to dress up,” Wilson says.

The duo has developed Wilson’s sense of style so much, that the actress says nowadays, her family are constantly raiding her personal closet for outfits.

“Now I have a wardrobe full of custom Givenchy!” Wilson reveals. “My family is going to hate me for saying this, but they raid my closet because we wear similar sizes and they know I have the best fashion taste. I know what I’m talking about now. So I find that I impart a lot of my knowledge, especially to plus-size girls.”

Though she’s often decked out in designer duds for big red carpet events, the actress still admits, ” I’m a pretty low-maintenance chic.”
