Like any bride, Troian Bellisario wanted her big day to be absolutely perfect, which means she had to try on multiple wedding gowns before finding “the one.”

“Ultimately, I tried on way too many dresses,” the Pretty Little Liars actress told Refinery 29 of her white Cortana gown. “I’m an incredibly indecisive person, and I didn’t want to wear a dress that I felt was wearing me. So I picked a simple, really beautiful design.”

Bellisario, 31, and Suits star Patrick J. Adams tied the knot last week, and strayed from the traditional wedding in favor of a camp-inspired ceremony in southern California. Bellisario said the festivities continued throughout the weekend.

“We knew that we wanted to get married outdoors, and we knew we didn’t want it to be just a single day because everybody told us that it goes by very quickly,” she told Refinery. “We wanted to have as much time as we possibly could. We knew that would mean being with our friends in an outdoor space for more than just a day. We wanted to make sure that everybody was super-comfortable and had a great time.”

The couple, along with their 200 wedding guests, spent the weekend in glamorous camping tents, with one attendee telling PEOPLE, “Everyone was camping out together and sitting around the fire singing and laughing.”

They drove up to the venue in a converted school bus with the words “Almost Married” written on the back. And the stars wed in front of two oak trees in an intimate area surrounded by trees.

Bellisario and Adams, 35, became engaged in 2014 after three years of dating. The pair have remained tight-lipped about their wedding in the months leading up to the day, and celebrated with some of their closest friends and family members.

Suits star Sarah Rafferty, attended along with Pretty Little Liars showrunner I. Marlene King, Bellisario’s costars Lucy HaleAshley Benson, Sasha Pieterse, Keegan Allen, Ian Harding and Adams’ friend Chris Pine.
