In the words of Kermit the Frog, it's not easy being green
As 2016 winds down to a close, it’s time for the Pantone gods to bestow upon us their annual choice for color of the year. Each December, the “global color authority” weighs in on the hue that will represent the coming year, and for 2017, they’ve decided upon a particularly vibrant hue of chartreuse they’ve dubbed “Greenery.” However, unlike 2016’s gentle, wearable “Serenity” and “Rose Quartz,” this particular green is going to be much more challenging to incorporate into your everyday wardrobe. But with our handy shopping roundup and the beneficent guidance of the patron saint of trends, Lupita Nyong’o, how can you go wrong?
As Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, explained to the New York Times in their big reveal of this year’s pick, “This is the color of hopefulness, and of our connection to nature. It speaks to what we call the ‘re’ words: regenerate, refresh, revitalize, renew. Every spring we enter a new cycle and new shoots come from the ground. It is something life affirming to look forward to.”

But while getting on trend for 2017 is as simple as clicking any of the links above, in the words of Kermit the Frog, “It ain’t easy being green.” We’d advise starting small (with accessories) and working up to the yellow-green shade once you’re sure your complexion can handle it.
