10 Statement Accessories You Might Have Missed on the Oscars Red Carpet
TIME'S UP PINS
Time's Up has been a force on the red carpet this awards season, and Oscar night was no different. Stars including Beanie Feldstein, Jane Fonda (pictured) and more wore the pins on their ensembles to stand in solidarity against sexual harassment in the workplace.
TIME'S UP PINS (CONT.)
Instead of pinning her Time's Up support on her red Dior gown, Streep fastened the pin into her updo.
TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET'S FACE ON A SHIRT
James Ivory, the writer of Call Me By Your Name, gave a not-so-subtle nod to the film's star, Chalamet, with a button-down shirt featuring a drawing of Chalamet's face on it. He says that he's going to give the shirt to the actor after the show.
JORDAN PEELE'S GET OUT PIN
Nominated for Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Picture for his breakout film Get Out, Peele gave a subtle nod to the movie with a pin featuring bloody deer antlers — a recurring image throughout the film.
SAM ROCKWELL'S CUFFLINKS
Rockwell is wearing his heart on his sleeve — literally — with custom-made David Yurman accessories featuring girlfriend Leslie Bibb's name.
DEE REES' TOWERING SHOES
Almost more impressive than your film being nominated for an Oscar? Being able to walk the red carpet in these crazy-high, super skinny heels.
TIFFANY HADDISH'S MEANINGFUL OUTFIT
Haddish said she told her father, who passed away last year, that she'd wear an outfit that paid homage to his Eritrean heritage if she ever made it to the Oscars. This year, she did — and the headpiece (and entire ensemble) is epic.
THE TINY ORANGE FLAG PINS
ALLISON JANNEY'S BLING
For her first Oscar nomination night, Janney wore $4 million worth of diamonds that totaled more than 128 carats and included a necklace, bracelet, earrings and a ring.
MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY'S VELVET BOW TIE
A twist on a tux! The actor embraced the velvet trend with a red velvet Dolce & Gabbana bow tie, adding a pop of color to his classic Brioni ensemble (and coordinating with his Chopard ruby-wearing wife Camila Alves).
MOLLY MCNEARNEY'S COMFY KICKS
McNearney, wife of the night's host Jimmy Kimmel, kept things comfortable on the red carpet in a pair of sneakers and "Costco sport socks." (She joined Whoopi Goldberg, who also prioritized comfortable footwear for her red carpet walk.)
