As your favorite athletes kick their intense training into high gear for the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero (the opening ceremonies are tonight!), so are your favorite fashion brands. Ralph Lauren, H&M, Lacoste and more are supplying their home country’s clothing — and we have a breakdown of all the designs right here.
Ralph Lauren, which has outfitted Olympians since 2008, has topped themselves with a new, first of its kind, glowing track jacket custom-made to light the way for Michael Phelps, who will serve as the Team USA Opening Ceremony Flag Bearer. The jacket features electroluminescent panels across the back that cause the USA logo to glow blue.
Those athletes not wearing the glowing jacket will have their own patriotic attire provided by the brand (as modeled by BMX racer Connor Fields):
Armani also showcased their designs for the Italian team on Instagram and sent sketches out for the opening ceremony. Created as a part of their sportier EA7 line, this equally preppy, simple collection is composed of polos, t-shirts, and track pants featuring a tasteful Italian flag on the left breast and sleeve.
Lacoste, was tapped for France’s uniforms. Athletes will wear an all-white palette of cropped pants, polos, sweaters and even a specially-designed waterproof poncho accentuated with the French flag colors, blue, white and red.
The brand’s artistic director told WWD, “The idea was to do something chic that is representative of the Lacoste spirit, founded by [tennis legend] René Lacoste — so very clean cut and very precise.”
The collection is available to shop in French stores this week.
H&M is dressing the Swedish Olympic and Paralympic teams at the opening and closing ceremonies, in addition to clothing for athletes to wear during down time in Rio. And if you have your eyes on a few pieces, the uniforms will actually inspire a full-range collection available at H&M stores this summer. (Caitlyn Jenner is the face of the campaign!)

Next up, Dsquared2; designers Dean and Dan Caten are outfitting their home Canadian team because, as they said in a statement, they are “constantly inspired by Canada.” They went on to say, “The Opening Ceremony look is made with our passion for our birth country mixed with the energetic spirit of Dsquared2.” That was translated into their signature suit jackets with black trousers, and oversize long-sleeve shirts.
The A-list’s favorite shoe designer Christian Louboutin is also getting in on the olympic action, creating clean, chic, khaki, navy, and red uniforms emblazoned with the Cuban flag and, of course, plenty of drool-worthy sneakers and sandals to go with them.
And finally, the South Korean Olympic committee revealed athletes will be wearing Zika-proof uniforms, which have been designed with mosquito-repellent chemicals and feature long pants and sleeved shirts.
