For his Fashion Week moment, Zac Posen created couture creations in Central Park. He took one piece of fabric and draped elegant designs on mannequins as a way to thank the people of New York.
"I wanted to share my joy and say thank you to New York City and to all the people here who have handled COVID like heroes," he wrote on Instagram. "I know in my heart that we will come back in wonderful and new ways. We are New York tough and New York energized."
The designer took all the precautions to show his Spring/Summer 2021 collection amid the coronavirus pandemic. It was held in the backyard of his Connecticut home, featured models in masks and guests were seated six feet away from one another around the lawn.
"It was so nice to just have like a calm, beautiful experience," the designer said of hosting his show at his home. "It really turned out more than we wanted. But honestly, I even was like, if people don't even come, I just wanted to have this beautiful show because I've been dying to create. So, I was like, I have to do something, or I just feel like I'm out of a job. That's why we wanted to do it this way. And it felt like people would feel a little comfortable coming to see it like this."
Billy Porter struck a very fierce pose (we had to) in his silver metallic suit with matching hat and platform boots at the Christian Siriano outdoor runway show.
Siriano made his message very clear: vote, vote vote!
