Dancing freely over New York City, Natalie Portman‘s fiancé (and new dad) Benjamin Millepied faces the camera in his first-ever ad for Yves Saint Laurent’s newest men’s fragrance, L’Homme Libre. Billed as a scent that walks the line between “freedom and fate,” according to WWD, the fragrance is the third in a trilogy of L’Homme colognes, which also includes L’Homme and La Nuit de L’Homme. Libre, a woody scent featuring notes of basil, violet leaves, pink pepper and nutmeg, will retail for $43 to $75 when it hits shelves this fall. To coincide with the launch, Millepied, principal dancer for the New York City Ballet, also stars in a commercial for the fragrance, in which he dances through Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood. Shot in May, the spot will begin airing in the United States this October. He isn’t the first person in Portman’s circle to be featured in an YSL ad: Vincent Cassel, who costarred in Black Swan, appeared in the commercial for La Nuit, which coincidentally, was shot by Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky. Tell us: What do you think of Millepied’s ad?
