Don't expect the supermodel to get her wings anytime soon

Naomi Campbell may have made her name as a supermodel back in the ’90s, but she’s still one of the most in demand women in the business to this day. There’s pretty much no fashion achievement she hasn’t attained and no runway she hasn’t walked, but in a recent interview with
The Sun
the model finally revealed why you shouldn’t hold your breath to see her included amongst the ranks of Victoria’s Secret Angels.

Just to clarify, many models get the chance to walk in the lingerie brand’s annual runway spectacular, but only a small, even more elite group are handpicked to become certified VS Angels. Angels, like Candice Swanepoel or Alessandra Ambrosio, are charged with not only wearing underwear better than any human has a right to, but also representing the brand at events, starring in the print magazine and fronting campaigns. While Naomi has taken her turn on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk plenty of times before, wearing those wings with ease, she told
The Sun
, she’ll never be an Angel because they simply, “could not afford me.”
