Lifestyle Style Miranda Lambert on Her Shoe Line: I Decided to Design Boots Because I Couldn't Find a Pair I Loved Miranda Lambert's shoe line is just like her: fun, feisty and pretty By Alex Apatoff Published on April 21, 2014 09:29 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Courtesy Miranda Lambert(2); Courtesy Footwear News(3) Miranda Lambert is the queen of cool country style — she’s got that blend of girlie, tough, flirty and fierce down to an art. So she’s building on that cred by expanding her fashion focus, first founding two Pink Pistol boutiques in Oklahoma and Texas, and now with her own footwear line, which just released its first spring collection. Miranda by Miranda Lambert encompasses everything from low-key slides to sexy high-heeled booties, but it all started with a busted-up pair of cowboy boots she adored but couldn’t replace. “I had this pair of boots that I absolutely loved. The style was really hard to come by, and I literally wore off the soles on stage,” she told Footwear News. “I kept thinking about getting my own boot line because you just couldn’t find them.” PHOTOS: Vote on more star styles in Love It or Leave It! That led her to partner with a St. Louis-based footwear group with a list of things she was hoping to find in shoes and boots. “It’s fun to get dressed up, but at the end of the day, I’m back in my jeans and T-shirts at home hanging outside on the four-wheeler,” she said. “You need something for that fun dress up, but you need everyday wear, too. That is what I’m focused on.” But don’t expect to see her trying to out Christian Louboutin with crazy designs and colors. In fact, the wildest style she’s got right now is the silver pair of cowboy boots she wore to the CMAs (above). “Keep it simple. You can’t get crazy with design because you need something for everybody,” she said of her design philosophy. “I learned that with buying for my store, especially at the beginning. You have to keep it a little neutral or you’ll paint yourself into a corner.” To see the rest of her designs, check out the just-launched spring collection at DSW.com and read the rest of her interview at Footwear News, including what inspires her and more.
