When it comes to his personal style, Michael B. Jordan is never the guy to play it safe. But like most mothers, the Black Panther actor’s mom Donna Jordan is here to give her son a healthy dose of reality when he takes his red carpet risks a little too far.

So when the 30-year-old actor recently invited Vogue into his home for its 73 Questions video series and his mom made a brief cameo, they had to ask what’s the most outrageous thing Jordan’s ever worn — and Donna immediately jumped right in to answer.

“Hmm, oh! I know right away!” she said, laughing. “It’s that orange plaid suit that you wore to some award.”

“Yeah…I was trying to take a fashion risk,” Jordan said, defending the daring orange, purple and black plaid Vivienne Westwood suit he wore to the 2015 MTV Movie Awards.

But just because his mom doesn’t necessarily love her son in a standout plaid doesn’t mean Jordan’s going to stop sporting the bold print. Just a few months ago, the actor was one of the best dressed guys at the Met Gala when he suited up in a breasted shawl collar tartan tuxedo from the Ralph Lauren Purple Label.

In his interview with Vogue, Jordan also opened up about if he would ever consider stripping down to nothing for a role, or would opt for a body double instead. “Nudity, of course!” he said. “All nudity. No body double!”

He even revealed his own special hidden talent, which is one that will have most ladies lining up to date the star once they hear about it: “Ironing!”

And if that isn’t enough of a reason to love Jordan already, his number one dating rule will surely convince you this guy’s the ultimate gentleman. “Always pick up the tab, at first anyway. And then, she never touches a doorknob,” he said.
