In the immortal words of Miranda Priestly that will haunt us for seasons to come, “Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.” But when that floral print is splashed all over a jumpsuit that still leaves plenty of room to maneuver should you need to do a last minute high kick to seduce an air marshall or prove you ain’t afraid of no ghosts, it is actually kind of a revelation.

In the past, Melissa McCarthy has told People, “I just try to make clothing that’ll make all women feel really good.” And the outfit she wore to the Australian premiere of her new film The Boss in Sydney on Monday night was the perfect embodiment of that sentiment. The comedian wore a bright watercolor-print, featuring a V-neckline (accented by an Anne Sisteron necklace), super wide-leg trousers, all cinched at the waist with a thick fabric belt.

McCarthy has been having a lot of fun with prints lately, wearing a checked pair of leggings with a peplum tunic for a press day for The Boss. And it all remains true to her original style ethos, which she shared with People when she first launched her clothing line Melissa McCarthy Seven7: Have fun with fashion, all the time. “What I want is for you to feel great!” she said. “I’m a mom with two kids — and I wear leather pants and cheetah-print and all kinds of crazy stuff.” And of course, we love her other style motto: “I think you can look really chic and still be wildly comfortable!”

Given the actress’s penchant for wearing her own designs (and designing pieces for others!), we’re guessing this jumpsuit is also a McCarthy original. Now let’s all cross our fingers that this piece will find its way into a store by us in the very near future.
