Meghan Markle has been busy since she and Prince Harry moved to California. She’s joined virtual summits via Zoom, given speeches about racial injustice and inequality, and helped to distribute school supplies in Los Angeles. And in her most recent appearance, Meghan sat down with feminist icon Gloria Steinem for a “historic backyard chat” to discuss the importance of voting and representation.
In the video clip, shared on the MAKERS Women’s Instagram page, the two are sitting outside with a wooden table between them. For the relaxed setting, Meghan opted for a breezy summer look, featuring a straw sun hat, a white V-neck shirt, striped linen trousers from Annie Bing , and a pair of Stella McCartney heeled sandals . It’s been months since we’ve seen a full ensemble from Meghan, since (like the rest of us) she’s doing work via Zoom calls. So needless to say, we were pretty excited to see her pants.
We can tell she’s definitely leaning back into her California cool-girl style. Her trousers have a relaxed silhouette that’s casually chic and a pinstripe pattern that means business. Striped trousers are the perfect transitional piece because they can pair with tees and tanks during the summer, just as easily as chunky sweaters and cardigans come fall.
Meghan’s pair come with a pretty hefty price tag — the Annie Bing trousers cost $249 and are practically sold out everywhere online (the Markle Sparkle still exists). But because we’re way too excited about her stylish pants, we rounded up seven similar and more affordable options; they include this highly reviewed pair of $19 paper bag pants , this super flattering high-rise style that’s just under $100, and this cool, sporty jogger version you can shop on Amazon.
