Sure New York is home to fashionistas like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Beyoncé, Liv Tyler and more, but who are those slightly less obvious city dwellers who have serious, unheralded style?

For the second year in a row, StyleCaster set out to find them, and presents its list of the 50 most stylish New Yorkers, those who “keep us inspired, surprised and … a bit jealous,” the site writes. Winners include actors like Ashlee Simpson‘s boyfriend, Vincent Piazza; stylist Mary Alice Stephenson; and designer Christian Cota.

Knicks star Carmelo Anthony and wife La La snag the award for most stylish family; the couple (parents to son Kiyan, 5) are often seen at red carpet events looking sleek. But that doesn’t mean they haven’t had a few fashion missteps. Carmelo’s biggest faux pas? “The purple velvet smoking jacket I wore to a game a few years back,” the athlete admits. “Of course I thought it was cool then.”

Alice + Olivia’s Stacey Bendet nabs the most stylish fashion exec title, though she shares an embarrassing moment, too. “I split my pants on my first date with my husband,” she reveals. “And when I say MY pants I mean the ones that were on my ass that I made. Double negative.”

But perhaps the award for mildest fashion don’t goes to Nate Berkus, a.k.a. the most stylish interior design guru. “Most of my [style mistakes] revolve around hair products,” he shares. To see the complete list, visit Tell us: Who’s your pick for most stylish celebrity?
