We hope Matthew McConaughey keeps winning awards because a.) We love his acceptance speeches and b.) We love to talk about his tuxedo style. The actor has definitely mixed things up on the carpet, eschewing the classic tux seen on most actors for some fun colors, textures and fabrics.

From left, The Dallas Buyers Club star kicked off awards season in a metallic Saint Laurent blazer with black satin lapels styled with a crisp white shirt, black trousers and a bow tie. At the Golden Globes he elevated his jacket game, selecting a three-piece Dolce & Gabbana design featuring an emerald velvet blazer teamed with a matching bow tie. Next at the Critics’ Choice Awards, McConaughey gave his best sexy stare in a silver houndstooth Lanvin tuxedo, proving the man loves a shiny topper. And most recently at the SAG Awards, the face of Dolce & Gabbana showed more loyalty to the brand, selecting a textured printed suit jacket and coordinating trousers.

Now only two questions remain: Which designer will he choose for the Oscars (we have a feeling he’s going to nab the statue), and will he or won’t he be sporting facial hair? (He’s been clean shaven for the last two, so it’s anyone’s guess.)
