When Mark Steines and Julie Freyermuth tied the knot in an intimate wedding at their home on Aug. 20, all eyes were on the bride — and her amazing wedding jewelry.

The show-stopper? Freyermuth’s antique engagement ring, a gold, platinum and fancy yellow diamond stunner from Neil Lane’s archival collection.

“It’s quite unique and romantic, and it’s almost 100 years old,” Lane tells People of the vintage ring that hails from the early 20th century and features old European-cut diamonds surrounding fancy yellow diamonds and a centered antique marquis-cut stone.

“Julie had wanted something unusual and that ring took her breath away,” he says.

Indeed, the popular children’s book author had explored Lane’s collection and “kept going back to this ring,” says Lane, who in turn worked with Steines to help him pick out her favorite. “Mark wanted her to have the ring that she loved and he surprised her,” he says.

The couple also worked with Lane on their wedding bands — the former Entertainment Tonight host turned Home and Family star “wanted something elegant,” says Lane, who designed a classic platinum band for Steines and a thinner gold band for Freyermuth.

The bride completed her wedding look with a 15-carat long diamond chain with fancy platinum links, and 5-carat earrings with little briolette-cut diamonds, both designed by Lane.

“I was delighted when Mark called me to work with them on this,” he says, adding that he’s known Steines for years after appearing on ET and Home and Family. “He’s a lovely man and they are a very sweet, endearing couple!”
