Mandy Moore's New York Fashion Week Style Stats
Fun fact: Moore and her stylist first spotted this floral Jennifer Behr headband at the Lela Rose show and were inspired to incorporate it into her front row Marchesa look. They styled her black lace top from the label with a pair of cropped GRLFRND jeans, Marchesa chandelier earrings and Wolford lace tights cut into socks. "We decided to do it with blue jeans to show an alternative way of wearing a really formal, beautiful blouse that you would typically pair with a skirt or black tie trousers," Cloud shares. "That's the great part about New York in general -- the balance of high-low in street wear." Mandy adds that she feels "more uninhibited" when dressing for events like NYFW. "I was there with my three friends who I work with with on styling and hair and makeup, and it just felt like a celebratory girls trip. It allowed us to all be creative and have fun."
"It's not something that I would typically wear," the This Is Us star says of the pill-print Marc Jacobs babydoll dress she teamed with Wolford opaque tights and a pair of sky-high Marc Jacobs platform sandals. The dress inspired her glam squad, Jenn and Ashley Streicher, to have fun with hair and makeup, playing up the print with blue eye shadow and adding Jennifer Behr pearl accessories to accent her soft waves. Cloud says that while some think of tights with open-toed shoes as a "fashion faux pas" it helped with the below-freezing temperatures in N.Y.C., and made the whole look "very '60s," creating a "seamless transition from head to toe."
ALICE + OLIVIA
This is probably the easiest look to swipe from the star. She transformed a plaid Alice + Olivia bustier and skirt combo into a winter-weather appropriate outfit by adding a Kate Spade New York leather jacket, red Jimmy Choo heels, Atelier Longchamp clutch and Wolford tights. "We originally planned to wear a black turtleneck bodysuit underneath this look to show how you could wear the separates in the winter in a surprising way," Cloud shares. "But instead to create that balance we opted for a motorcycle jacket draped over the shoulders."
For her "edgiest" look of the week Moore wore a Naeem Khan beaded fringe duster with a pair of leather pants, an ATM Anthony Thomas Melillo bodysuit, Stuart Weitzman heels and Jennifer Fisher earrings. "We didn't want the vest to be in competition with anything else," Cloud shares. "When you wear a piece like that with a lot of detail, everything else should be a little quieter."
"Our idea was a modern take on the authentic French cinema girl," Cloud says of the inspiration behind Moore's collared, embroidered Lela Rose dress, worn with ankle-strap Jimmy Choo heels and a black bow in her hair creating the mane look of the moment, a "bow-ny tail."
