Lily-Rose Depp Is the New Face of Chanel (Which Officially Makes Her the Coolest Teenager Ever)
In 2015 Lily-Rose Depp attended Chanel runway shows, then modeled in Chanel runway shows, landed her first editorial spread and is starring in her first major film. And as if that wasn’t enough to solidify her title as the most impressive 16-year-old on the planet, she just landed her very first Chanel ad campaign, joining the brand as their latest ambassador. And (no surprise) she’s already a total pro.
For her first role for the house, Depp’s fronting the Pearl eyewear collection, which includes staring in gorgeous editorial photos (shot by the brand’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld) and an accompanying video (be advised: her Blue Steel is exceptionally fierce). She wears an adorable metallic-finished scalloped button-down and a pair of the pearl-adorned pink round-frame sunnies.
“Lily-Rose is stunning, she’s a young girl from a new generation with all the qualities of a star,” announced Lagerfeld.
One explanation for her killer looks and ease in front of the camera (really, you have to watch the clip — she’s already a pro) is probably thanks to some pointers from mom (and Chanel muse), Vanessa Paradis. Paradis, 42, is a longtime friend of Lagerfeld, having been a Chanel brand ambassador since 1990 — ever since she fronted the Coco perfume and “Girl” Chanel handbag campaigns.
Depp’s been showing off her supermodel-skills-in-training since she first stepped out to watch the Chanel Métiers d’Art show in N.Y.C. show in April and again when she made her runway debut at the Fall-Winter 2015-2016 Haute Couture show earlier this month (both times accompanied by her model mama).

She modeled a strapless black velvet dress and sparkly star headband alongside Lily Collins, who also modeled the high-fashion label’s new collection and took a front-row seat at the craps table (getting “all in” to the game). Paradis, sporting a matching bob to her daughter, also walked in the show clad in a golden top paired with matching flare trousers.
Chanel also tapped into another acting/modeling/all-around-fabulous family to model in the casino-themed show. Gabriel-Kane Day-Lewis — 20-year-old son of Oscar-winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis escorted Julianne Moore to her seat at at the gambling tables. We only hope Lewis and Depp will star in the next ad campaign for the brand together!
