We were seeing triple at the Met Gala this year, all thanks to J. Crew.

Girls showrunners, Lenny Letter co-creators and all around partner-in-crimes Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner ditched the gowns for menswear, even taking on the style influences of J. Crew creative director and president Jenna Lyons.

Dunham, 29, Konner, 45, and Lyons, 45, chose tailored black tuxedo jackets with plunging white blouses for a feminine touch. The actress and the designer opted for cigarette pants while the writer/director chose a flared leg.

Not only did the trio slick back their tresses and rock the exact same style of black heel, they also accessorized with Lyons’ signature thick-rimmed glasses. The triplets even coordinated diamond rings from J. Birnbach and custom 14k jewelry by Snash.

It’s back-to-back J. Crew for Dunham, who donned a customized sequin skirt hand sewn by Lyons, to friend Audrey Gelman’s Detroit nuptials on Sunday. The star served as one of the bridesmaids for the P.R. consultant’s wedding to‘s co-founder Ilan Zechory.

Dunham and Lyon’s friendship was born in 2012 after the pair met at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards, where the actress was one of four honorees. “I’m probably Lena Dunham’s biggest fan, from the moment I saw Tiny Furniture, and I followed her. She is probably one of the most groundbreaking women of today,” Lyons said of Dunham in an interview for
The Cut
. The Glamour meet-cute even led to a guest role in a season 3 episode of Girls in which Lyons played Janice, Hannah’s boss at GQ.
