You don’t have to be a professional to score amazing makeup looks. Because with‘s series 100 Years of Beauty: How-To, which will be available on Watchable Tuesday, you can recreate old — and new — iconic celebrity looks with easy steps from their pros. And just in time for Halloween, they’re showing us how to create a modern version of Marilyn Monroe‘s signature glam — and you’re seeing it here first. Watch the video below to find out exactly how to nab the look.

After dividing your hair into 1-in. sections, curl hair with a barrel curling iron, making sure to curl all of the hair in the same direction to get that Old Hollywood waved look. Wrap the front pieces in pin curls to set for a few minutes, then let them loose and brush them out to create a smooth wave.

For the face, apply a thin layer of foundation to give the skin a clean finish. Next, fill in the brows before lining your water line and lash line with a black eyeliner pencil. And while smoky eyes weren’t part of Monroe’s signature look, the pros are amping it up with a subtle gray smoldering shadow to give her glam a modern feel. Apply a slate-colored cream eyeshadow at the base of your lashes, and use a brush to smudge it up and out. Then, apply a lighter shade all over the lid to blend the look. Repeat on the bottom lash lines, curl your lashes, and finish with a swipe of mascara.

And last but not least, apply Marilyn’s signature red lip. They went with a brick red shade to complete her iconic bold look.
