‘Twas the night before Christmas … when you realize that you spaced and completely forgot someone on your holiday shopping list. Yes, it’s way too late to order something online, but that doesn’t mean you have to hand over an IOU (lame) or a half-used iTunes gift card you found in your wallet (lamer). Because one of our go-to gift stores is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. today. HomeGoods, the décor-oriented sister store of TJ Maxx and Marshalls, is stocked with pretty trays (like the metallic croc-print one at left), centerpieces, luxe faux fur throws, frames and just about every other item anyone with a house or an apartment or an office could want. (At least two editors furnished and decorated their apartments almost solely with HomeGoods finds.) Plus, just like TJ Maxx and Marshalls, everything is steeply discounted, meaning your gift will look way pricier than it really was. And really, isn’t that the most important characteristic in a gift? Find the nearest HomeGoods store here.
