Kylie Jenner Reveals She 'Didn't Mean' to Dye Her Hair Platinum
Kylie Jenner’s latest hair change is her most dramatic yet. Why? Because it’s the REAL deal. The queen of faux-hair fakeouts is now a full-on platinum blonde, without the help of one of her many wigs. And she just told PeopleStyle the reason behind her major mane makeover. (It’s not what you think.)
“I actually didn’t mean to go platinum,” she told us at the Kendall + Kylie Collection New York Fashion Week pop-up shop Wednesday in N.Y.C. “I really wanted a nice, honey dirty blonde and when we started bleaching it, it got so light so fast and I was like ‘Wow, my hair is not damaged, I can do this.’ So I went for it. ”
When we asked Kendall if she was the next KarJenner to go platinum, she mused, “Oh yeah, maybe! She did it before me!”
The sisters debuted the latest pieces from their eponymous line (including newly introduced shoes and handbags) at Samsung’s 837 New York Fashion Week event space, and they both dressed true to their signature styles — Kylie in a blue-and-white striped two-piece pant set and a white sports bra, and Kendall in a silky black jumpsuit featuring a cutout stomach, plus a bold red lip. (Unfortunately, their pieces are from the Spring collection, which is not yet available for purchase.)
“I love the way our line is growing, and that we finally found something we really love and there’s a groove to it,” Kendall shared.
Kim Kardashian also attended the event to support her sisters after they supported Kanye West at his Yeezy Season 4 show earlier in the day. The star dressed in what looks like head-to-toe Yeezy, selecting a nude sweatsuit look worn with a bodysuit and boots.

Both Kendall and Kylie are featured on PEOPLE’s “Most Stylish” list of 2016 (the issue is on stands everywhere Friday!), and they maintain that it’s important to them to continue to make clothes that excite their fans.
Kylie added that being a style and beauty inspiration to a younger generation (and her 74 million Instagram followers) is something that she has grown to love.
“It feels really good to have that influence. It’s so cool. We used to do meet-and-greets a lot, and I used to have green hair and then I would see a bunch of girls roll up with green hair the same week and they’d be like, ‘I did it for you.'”
Well Kylie, get ready for the platinum parade headed your way.
