Kim Kardashian West only had a few months to enjoy her enormous new diamond ring before it was stolen from her at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room, but she has sweet memories of how she received it — in the middle of the night, from husband Kanye West. Days before the frightening incident, the star sat with Andy Cohen for his SiriusXM program, Radio Andy, to dish on the details of the 20-carat, emerald cut Lorraine Schwartz ring West gave her.

When Cohen asked about her “upgraded” ring, Kardashian admitted, “My husband was very nice. It’s a really cute story, he’s going to kill me if I share it!” Of course, the audience was having none of that hesitation, so without much convincing, she continued:

“I was sleeping and he woke me up in the middle of the night and said, ‘Babe, babe, I got you something from Adidas. And I said, ‘I’ll get the shoes in the morning babe, I’m sleeping.’ And then he put a box on my pillow, a Lorraine Schwartz box, and he goes, ‘No, open your eyes,’ and I opened my eyes and it was a box, and I like, woke up, and I was like, ‘What is this?'”

Her husband explained: “‘Well, you know I just did that big Adidas deal, so I got you something from Adidas!’ and he engraved Adidas on the band inside because he’s funny like that. And I was like, ‘Do I have to give my other ring back?’ and he was like, ‘Can you do that?’ and I was like ‘Nooo! You can’t do that, I’m just kidding.’ Thank you, Adidas!”

Though sources say Kardashian blames herself for the robbery (and security experts and Karl Lagerfeld also agree that she should not have flaunted the jewelry on social media), other sources say West is just happy she’s safe: “He told her that he couldn’t care less about the jewelry; he’s just thankful that she’s okay.”

What do you think of the ring story?
