Lifestyle Style Kim Kardashian Reveals 'I Truly Don't Know If I'd Ever Wear Real Jewelry Again' Post Robbery After her robbery, the reality star is changing her approach to both how she dresses and her own security By Emily Kirkpatrick Published on April 27, 2017 11:35 AM Share Tweet Pin Email In the fallout since her robbery back in October, Kim Kardashian has turned over an entirely new leaf. Not only has she doubled-down on the amount of personal security guards she keeps with her at all times, but she’s also radically scaled back how much she shares about her personal life, taking a three-month hiatus from her various social media platforms before returning with a much more restrained, stylized approach to the medium. And as she told Ellen DeGeneres in an interview on her talk show on Thursday, the experience has also made her very trepidatious about wearing any type of extravagant jewelry ever again. In the in-depth interview, the reality star opened up about her harrowing experience, telling Ellen, “Automatically your stomach drops. It’s a feeling you can’t explain. And I knew that was it for me. Hundred percent [knew I was going to die].” She continued, “It was a good seven or eight minutes of torture, but when I look back and analyze it, I’m like, ‘OK, they weren’t really aggressive.’ It could have been way worse.” The star adds that before the robbery she was more “materialistic,” and now she’s completely changed her way of life. “Not that there’s anything bad about having things and working hard to get those things — and I’m really proud of everyone that’s around me that’s successful. But I’m so happy that my kids get this me,” she explains. “And that this is who is raising my kids. Because I just don’t care about that stuff anymore, I really don’t.” RELATED PHOTOS: A Brief History of Kim Kardashian & Kanye West’s Ups & Downs Kim, who only wore a delicate wedding band for her appearance on the talk show, says she later learned that the robbers had been following her every move for two years prior to the heist, saying, “They had been hearing interviews that I did getting excited about this jewelry or this jewelry, and it’s not to say that I’ll never wear jewelry again or anything like that. I truly don’t know if I’d ever feel comfortable. My whole life has changed in terms of how I travel and what security.” So don’t expect her to bring back any of those jaw-dropping jewels anytime soon, though of course, she will make the occasional exception for a few of her husband’s Yeezy pendants.
