Kim Kardashian Met Gala Mania! See All the Star's Looks Through the Years

The reality star has only been attending since 2013, but she's already a seasoned pro

Even though Kim Kardashian only started attending in 2013, she’s already become a seasoned Met Gala red carpet pro. Year after year, the reality star has shown up in looks that not only perfectly nail the exhibit’s theme, from punk to couture, but are also guaranteed to make a major statement in the way only the 35-year-old knows how to do. And Kim proved she’s just as excited as we are about the big reveal of her Met Gala 2016 look, gushing on her website about her prep for tonight and the handful of gowns she’s worn over the past 3 years.

Who could forget the look that launched a million memes, Kim’s debut Met Gala gown for the museum’s “Punk: Chaos to Couture” exhibit. The custom Givenchy creation, made for the then very pregnant reality star, featured designer Riccardo Tisci’s instantly recognizable floral print and built-in gloves that allowed her arms to completely disappear into the rest of her body.

For 2015, Kim went full-blown Beyoncé, channeling the singer’s love of a sheer, crystalized gown in this ornate dress from Roberto Cavalli that featured an elaborate design and a long feathered train. Kim called it, “one of my fave dresses ever,” elaborating that, “it was the first dress creative director Peter Dundas designed for Cavalli.”

For the 2014 Gala, Kim went old school glam, wearing a look that honored the process of constructing high fashion in celebration of that year’s exhibit on Charles James, America’s first couture designer. Kim revealed on her website and app, that while working with Alber Elbaz, the then Creative Director of Lanvin, on this look, they first created the dress out of leather with metallic detailing before deciding at the last minute to swap it out for the blue and black satin that winded up on the red carpet.

As for this year’s look? All we know so far is it looks like Kim will be clad in Balmain (naturally) and fittings went late into the night on Sunday, including a 2:00 a.m. spray tan.

But whatever her final gown ends up being, we’re sure it’s going to make a major statement. Personally, we’re crossing our fingers for some roboticized Yeezy x Balmain.
