Kim Kardashian Reinvents the Rain Boot with Clear Thigh-High Heels in N.Y.C.

It's the start of a whole new style phase for Kim

Another week, another new style phase. Kim Kardashian West was deeply committed to knee-length shorts and skin-tight tops last week, but has since moved on to a whole new aesthetic. The star came roaring out of the weekend in a whirlwind of dressy denim and a new head-turning shoe: clear knee-high boots.

Kim was spotted out in N.Y.C. on Tuesday wearing an oversize PABLO jean jacket (always moving husband Kanye West’s merch!) with tight high-waist cutoffs and a totally sheer baby blue corseted La Perla bra. But the sheer, double denim look had nothing on her accessories which included transparent plastic high heel boots, her custom “Saint” Karma El Khalil choker necklace (which, at $2,000 a letter, goes for $10K) and white furry clutch.

And then there are those clear plastic boots. While she was weather-appropriate for once (it’s currently overcast in N.Y.C.) we can’t really imagine spike heel, sweaty thigh-highs being the most ideal choice for rainy, humid conditions. (Same goes for that furry clutch.)

She recently posted a story on her blog about her appreciation of dressy denim, calling her husband Kanye West as a champion of the trend saying. “When Kanye wore the beaded Balmain denim jacket with Fear of God jeans on the 2016 Met Gala red carpet it was such a bold style move,” she said.

“I love how forward-thinking he is; it’s an outdated rule that you can’t wear denim on the carpet, and Kanye gets that,” she added.

Odds are we can anticipate a double denim matching couple moment from Kim and Kanye by the end of the week. (If he wears the boots we’ll just let them run the website from here on out.)
