Kim and Kanye's Matchy-Matchy Couple Style
CLEAVAGE & HE-VAGE
Black and tan: not just a drink, but also apparently the outfit motto for Kim and Kanye in Paris on May 21. Just days before the wedding, the two remind us of a photograph and its negative: He’s in a black button-down with a camel overcoat and she’s in the reverse, a tan midi with a dark jacket.
THICK AS THEIVES
The only thing this pair has stolen is each other’s heart. Trying to remain incognito, Kim and Kanye hide their faces behind a couple of bandanas while making their way to a pre-wedding workout in Paris on May 20.
Designer Alber Elbaz custom-created these white-tie looks for the duo to wear to 2014’s Met Gala – which many said was a marked improvement from their funky floral moment the year before.
MONOGAMY AND MONOCHROME
When Kim’s attire turned to exclusively neutral shades shortly after giving birth to North, many pinned the wardrobe change on an edict from Kanye. We don’t know if that’s true or not, but it can’t be denied that the man loves a monochromatic ensemble.
The fact that Kim and Kanye coordinated their first layers (army-green pieces) and their top layers (an allover-fur calf-length coat for him and a fur-sleeved topper of the same length for her) makes us wonder if they also coordinated, you know, what’s underneath those layers for their N.Y.C. date on Feb. 15.
WHITE ON CUE
Hey, maybe it’s a practical decision. Just think about it: If they both wear light-colored tops and neutral accessories on the same day (as they did at a dinner in Beverly Hills on Jan. 12), they can do just one load of laundry when they get home. Because that’s totally the kind of thing they think about.
Sure, as style editors, we acknowledge that brocade and lace are two different materials. But as humans, we also acknowledge that there’s no way these two didn’t realize his bold blazer and her LWD would look so nicely complementary side-by-side at her Oct. 25 birthday celebration in Las Vegas.
KRAZY IN LOVE ...
… with head-to-toe black. Check out their coordinating ensembles (note Kanye even has a ruffle on his shirt collar to match Kim’s dress!) at the Givenchy Spring 2104 fashion show in Paris on Sept. 29, just a few weeks before they got engaged.
We know: They’re not wearing the same color or lots of leather, but it still looks like Kim and Kanye got dressed together before taking their style parade down the streets of Paris on Sept. 28. And we’re also pretty sure they share that oversize Max Mara coat.
WELL-SUITED FOR EACH OTHER
One of the couple’s favorite places to dress alike? Front row at Paris Fashion Week. On March 3, they selected his-and-hers suits for the Givenchy Fall 2013 show, looking almost identical except for one thing: Kim traded sneakers for heels (duh!).
On Dec. 6, just weeks before the new parents announced that they’re expecting, Kim and Kanye proved they’re more sartorially aligned than ever, attending a basketball game in Miami wearing white on top, black leather below and the same big grins.
The two took the plunge in Miami Beach on Oct. 14 showing quite a bit of cleavage (and he-vage) via a revealing black bra top (on her) and a low-cut tee (on him).
IN LOVE & IN LEATHER
Some couples buy his-and-hers bathrobes, but this twosome splurged on his-and-hers second-skin leather pants, which they styled similarly July 11 in Hollywood, adding white tops and attention-grabbing shoes (studded pumps for Kim, blue-and-black Nikes for Kanye).
GETTING IT WHITE
We’re guessing these two avoided red wine and spaghetti with meatballs the evening of the July 1 BET Awards in L.A., where they swathed themselves in white, she in a skintight cream sheath and he in a white tee and coordinating low-slung jeans.
Looks like they’ve got babies on the brain – baby blue and baby pink, that is. The rapper selected a light blue button-up and loose khakis in the same shade, while the reality star went feminine in a pale pink strong-shouldered top, plus matching jeans and pumps, while out in Calabasas, Calif., on June 30.
Before the duo experimented with coordinating whites and Easter egg-inspired shades, they took a walk on the dark side May 22 in London, wearing head-to-toe jet-black ensembles devoid of any color.
…to a color, that is. While in London on May 20, they each sport one hue head-to-toe: black for her and blue for him. (They’re clearly sole mates, too – Kim and Kanye both select lace-up high-tops.)
I REALLY LOVE MY LEATHER PANTS
They’re not just smitten with each other – they’re also smitten with those leather pants! They got a lot of mileage out of the duds, sporting them April 21 for a romantic afternoon in N.Y.C.
EBONY & IVORY
There’s no gray area when it comes to their relationship … or their clothing. At Paris Fashion Week on April 7, K and K went to opposite ends of the color spectrum: He donned a short-sleeve button-down, pants and kicks, all in white, while she opted for a black number and strappy sandals in the same dark shade.
BLACK OUT, BLINGED OUT
Even before they were dating, the two were unwittingly coordinating their looks. At Kim’s 30th birthday party, which she celebrated October 21, 2010, in N.Y.C., they showed up in black getups accessorized with major ice around their necks.
