Kendall Jenner's Thong-Baring Met Gala Dress Features 85,000 and Took 160 Hours to Design
There’s no runway or red carpet that Kendall Jenner can’t stand out on — and on fashion’s biggest night of the year, the 21-year-old model made sure all eyes were on her when stepped onto the iconic 2017 Met Gala steps wearing a sheer mesh La Perla Haute Couture gown — complete with a thong and, yes, her bare bottom.
Jenner arrived at the event sporting a glistening mesh backless La Perla gown (she’s an ambassador for the brand) with a dramatic front cut-out, which was sheer enough to reveal a black bodysuit underneath, along with her nearly naked backside. She paired the ensemble with matching black mesh pumps.
The custom La Perla design features 85,000 hand-painted crystals and took over 160 hours to make, spanning 5 cities and 26 craftsmen, according to the brand.
The beauty got ready with Estée Lauder, as she lounged in a robe and gel eye patches and shared the moment on Snapchat. For her makeup, Jenner went with a subtle smoky eye and a bold lip, while her brown lob was tousled and parted to the side.

The star’s sister, Kylie Jenner, also made an appearance on the carpet. However the matriarch of the family, Kris Jenner, sat out of this year’s event, as did Kanye West, who reportedly wanted to continue to “take more time off.”
