As the undeniable It Girls of the moment, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are bona fide trendsetters. Sure it helps that their every sartorial choice and outfit change is extensively documented and shopped out in every magazine and website across the Internet, but both women also seem to take a genuine interest in trying out new styles and switching up their looks, whether it’s Kendall in banana pants and an off-the-shoulder Victorian swimsuit or Gigi’s love of an athleisure moment and closet full of outerwear that drags along the city sidewalks. But on Wednesday the model duo set aside their usual high fashion antics, opting for a couple of outfits any mom could get behind.

Kendall went to grab dinner at Nobu with her friend wearing an outfit we could just as easily see on the sidelines of a middle school soccer game as we could on this Vogue cover girl. The reality star wore a white, floral printed Eckhaus Latta turtleneck, high-waisted, slightly distressed blue jeans, a pair of white rectangular sunglasses, and a pair of simple white high-top sneakers, hopefully by Adidas considering she just announced she’s their new brand ambassador. But the pièce de résistance that really pushes this look into matriarch territory is her Chanel fanny pack that looks like it could have been stolen straight from Kris Jenner‘s personal collection.

Gigi also wore a prep school-approved look, albeit with a slight model-esque edge. The 22-year-old showed off her midriff in a slightly cropped black tee with a cherry red Rebecca Minkoff ‘Adelle’ sweater customized with her name embroidered across the lefthand side tied around her shoulders and a matching pair of Les Specs x Adam Selman Lolita shades, looking like the most popular girl at the ’80s country club. She paired her top with some high-waisted black denim, letting the band of her Tommy Hilfiger briefs peek out over the waistline, and repping the other brand she represents by wearing a pair of black Reebok Classic Leathers. But basically, if you’re looking for someone to chaperone your next high school dance, we just found the perfect ladies for the job.
