The model gets real about her love life and social media in Allure's October issue
Over the past few years, Kendall Jenner has worked her way up the supermodel totem pole to become one of the most well-known faces of her time. She’s gracing the biggest magazine covers, walking the most prestigious runways, and is a superstar on Instagram. But even with over 65 million followers, she has her own social media rules — which she’s talking about in her cover story for Allure‘s October issue.
“I want my Instagram to look good,” the star tells Allure. “You go through people’s pages and it’s all, like, selfies or their butts. I love a good belfie, don’t get me wrong. I post those every once in a while.”
So with such a prominent social media presence, you’d expect her cellphone to be glued to her hand, right? Wrong. In fact, that’s one of the model’s biggest pet peeves.
“I find it offensive if you’re with someone at a dinner and they’re just sitting on their phone the whole time,” she explains. “I take that personally. Like, am I not interesting enough for you to talk to me? It’s so crazy because even though we talk about trying to be present, everyone wants to be in the future now. I definitely have close friends, and even some family members, who are so connected to their phone and can’t get off of it.”
Regardless of their cellphone predilections, Jenner keeps a tight-knit group of best friends including fellow models Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne and Hailey Baldwin. And they’re so close, they’ve even given their squad a name.
“This is going to sound really, really lame, but we all call ourselves the Super Natural Friend Group because we all have such cool individual lives and we’ve been dreaming about them since we were so young,” Jenner says, adding that she’s incredibly loyal. “I’m a Scorpio, so I stick to people. If I love you, I love you. If I don’t like you, you’re screwed.”
But while her squad is a big part of her public life, her romantic interests are staying firmly under wraps. “I’m so young. Whoever I’m dating, or going to be dating, is young, too,” says the 20-year-old model. “So I don’t think it’s figured out. Do you know what I mean? So if I don’t know what it is, I’d rather not let everyone else know.”
