The star dishes on her worst-ever date (high heels were involved)
It’s been nearly a decade and a half, but Kelly Osbourne still cringes when she thinks about the very first date she went on at 16 — all thanks to some teenage nerves and an ill-fated pair of Christian Louboutins.
“I still have the high-heeled shoes that I wore,” she tells PEOPLE about that first date while at the 37th Annual AAFA American Image Awards presented by the American Apparel & Footwear Association on Monday night in N.Y.C. “They were yellow and at the toe, they had black and white stripes.”
So what took her prized pair of red-soled pumps from chic to eek? “He went to kiss me and I got scared, because I was still very much a prude,” the TV personality, 30, says of what almost became her first kiss until the date went down in flames (so to speak). “I leaned back and fell down three stairs onto the street, broke my wrist and ran away from him.”

Unsurprisingly, not only have Osbourne and her date never spoken since, those Louboutins have also never made another public appearance again due to one key reason: “They still have blood on them!” she says.
Osbourne was on hand Monday night to receive the evening’s Fashion Maverick Award, two months after quitting Fashion Police in February amidst controversy surrounding remarks made by co-host Giuliana Rancic. While she doesn’t care to speculate on who will be filling her (hopefully not bloody) shoes in the new season of the E! show, she does share her top piece of advice: “Be yourself. Be who you are.”
