Lifestyle Style Katy Perry Wears a Blonde Faux-Hawk to the 2017 BRIT Awards The pop star showed off a simple, yet edgy new look prior to her award show performance By Emily Kirkpatrick Published on February 22, 2017 03:00 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Trending Videos Photo: David Fisher/REX/Shutterstock Katy Perry‘s style over the past few years has become synonymous with wild, over-the-top fashions. In fact, if it lights-up, rotates, transforms into something else or comes in every shade of the rainbow, you can pretty much guarantee it will find its way into the pop star’s wardrobe. With a new very political single and her fifth studio album set for imminent release, however, it seems Perry is turning over a stylish new leaf. But as she proved at this year’s BRIT Awards, while the candy-themed costumes may be long gone, the musician still hasn’t lost her fashionable edge. Perry attended the British music awards ceremony on Wednesday evening at the O2 Arena in London where she will perform live on the show for the first time in three years, teasing that she would debut the “2nd chapter” of “Chained to the Rhythm” on stage and that she was looking forward to “kick[ing] off a new era of purposeful pop,” by “making it rain Yorkshire puddings,” whatever that means. To celebrate the occasion, the singer wore a Versace dress that is equal parts J.Lo and Radio City Music Hall Rockette, a glittering tuxedo blazer and mini dress combo that ombrés from a light baby pink into metallic silver, with some slight deconstruction around the waist, breaking down from solid crystals into an open net weave before becoming a sea of fringe at the hemline. To balance out the extreme hairdo, she kept her makeup and accessories simple with a subtle pink smokey eye and glossy pink lip, a crystal choker, and nude strappy sandals. So while Perry may have left her “I Kissed a Girl” days behind her, her latest ensemble proves she’s still totally a “Teenage Dream.” What do you think of Katy’s look for the Brit Awards?
