Models spend countless months before the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show doing intense workouts, following strict diets, trying body contouring treatments and getting plenty of facials leading up to the iconic lingerie show. And the preparation to look perfect sans Photoshop on the runway doesn’t end until minutes before the models arrive backstage at the show.

Twenty minutes before Karlie Kloss returned to the VS Fashion Show runway for the first time in three years, the model filmed a video with her renowned aesthetician Georgia Louise to show her fans her early morning five minute skincare routine.

“I have had trouble with my skin in the last year so this has been a whole new learning experience for me. I really took for granted having good skin,” Kloss said. Follow the quick steps below to get the same glowing complexion as the models have on the runway!

Start with an ice bath to tighten and brighten your pores.

It doesn’t sound fun, but Kloss and Louise swear by this chilly hack. For 20 seconds, Louise instructed Kloss to take a bucket of ice water and toss handfuls of it onto her face to “Woo! Feel the burn!” Kloss said. “Actually it’s kind of nice after a while. That felt really nice actually.”

Massage in a hydrating cream mask.

If you’re under a time crunch, skip the usual cleansing step (this replaces it!) and massage a dime-size amount of a hydrating mask into your skin. While Louise told Kloss to use her favorite Biologique Recherche Masque VIP O2, any one will do. “It’s more effective, there’s more properties, it’s going to really like, push in all the active ingredients,” Louise told the model when she asked how masking in the morning can replace cleansing.

“We’re gonna have a lot of makeup on today for the show, so we want to have a good foundation for our skin to work with,” Kloss said as she rubbed the product all over her face. She continued to give herself a mini at-home facial by rubbing her hands toward her hairline starting at her forehead and moving down to her nose and chin for lymphatic drainage.

Hydrate with a serum so your skin won’t look cakey.

After wiping off the remnants of the cream mask, Kloss reached for a hydrating serum (Biologique Recherche Serum Fluide VIP O2) her aesthetician recommended instead of applying a heavy face cream for hydration. “You don’t want to feel really heavy with cream before makeup,” Louise told Kloss. The duo pressed (no rubbing!) the product into their faces, neck and décolletage.

Finish by rubbing ice-cold freeze sticks to de-puff.

When kept in the fridge, these spoon-shaped devices help to drain the skin when rubbed around and even tighten skin on top of your eyelids. “I remember specifically all throughout high school and early modeling days, I would always keep spoons in my freezer and stick them under my eyes. They were much less official and technical than this. But the idea of it is that it just draws circulation,” Kloss said.
