Justin Bieber is constantly changing his style to ensure that we can never predict what he’ll wear on any given day. There was his shoe-less day in the park and most recently wearing khaki shorts over a pair of jeans. (To say nothing of that week he was wearing crazy hats every day.)
But occasionally, he’ll bring back his greatest hits, and today is just such a day: He’s back in overalls. In 2012 he was eviscerated for his decision to wear them to meet the Canadian Prime Minister, but he’s stayed loyal to the style in spite of it all. And today, he gave them a twist, wearing them as pants with a splatter-paint tee. To catch you up to speed and celebrate this moment, we compiled Bieber’s complete “overallvolution.”
In 2012 he was awarded the Diamond Jubilee Medal from Canada’s Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, and wore none other than a white T-shirt and overalls to accept it. Naturally, the internet went wild. Gawker called him a “white trash prince” so he tried to set the record straight on social media..
“The pic of me and the Prime Minister was taken in a room in the arena where I was performing at that day,” he wrote. “I walked straight from my meet and greet to him, if you … expect me to have a change of clothes let a loan a suit at that specific time that’s crazy, It wasn’t like it was like I was going into his environment we were at a hockey arena. Wow am i ever white trash.”
Around the same time he also shut down haters on Instagram captioning a post, “I hope you hate my style.”
Harper completely defended Bieber on Twitter writing, “In fairness to @justinbieber, I told him I would be wearing my overalls too. #cdnpoli #beliebers”

After the incident cooled down, Ellen DeGeneres made the most of the moment when he stopped by her show. She gave Bieber a pair of tuxedo overalls so he can be black-tie ready without sacrificing his favorite onesie style.
That brings us up to speed to 2016. In May he was spotted sprawling in a field of grass in Ottawa, Canada wearing a half-buckled distressed pair of short-eralls over a white long-sleeve shirt.
Then he was seen in N.Y.C. on Tuesday wearing what appears to be the same pair of overalls worn completely unbuckled and gathered around his waist, with the inside panel displaying an ocean wave-print design. He paired it with a paint splattered T-shirt, knee-high socks and white sneakers.

He’s talked about the possibility of creating a clothing line one day down the road (he’s just not ready yet), but we hope when the day does come, his collection is filled with multiple overall styles– tuxedo included.
What do you think of his overalls?
