Julianne Hough Practices Using the Toilet in a Giant Dress With Her Wedding Day in Mind
If it feels like it’s been forever since Julianne Hough first announced her engagement to hockey player Brooks Laich that’s because, well, it kind of has been. At least, in celebrity time. The pair took their then-one-and-a-half-year relationship to the next level back in August 2015, when Laich officially popped the question, but since then there’s been no news on the matrimonial front. Even this past weekend, on the AMAs red carpet, she admitted that she hasn’t actually gotten around to picking out a dress yet. But even so, her latest Instagram makes it clear the Dancing with the Stars judge definitely has her wedding on the brain and is already prepping for all of the finer points of her big day.
In a shot posted to her account on Tuesday evening from the Dancing with the Stars finale, the dancer is seen perched atop a toilet in a public bathroom stall, trying to keep her fancy gown aloft while grinning at the camera. Hough jokingly captioned the shot, “Mid show potty break with this big ol’ dress! preppin’ for the weddin'”
Stylist Anita Patrickson shared the same shot from her own account, writing, “@juleshough and I doing some wedding dress ‘loo break’ practicing! @brookslaich …. not really sure what say about this crazy cat! She’s all yours! ps who else on this planet but juju can make sitting on the loo look this cute!?!?”
While this Georges Hobeika dress is, of course, is the one she wore to crown Laurie Hernandez as the DWTS champ, not the one for her big day, it certainly poses many of the same problems as trying to use the restroom in a traditional wedding gown, voluminous armfuls of tulle and all.
This particular black tie attire may not be in the running to be her nuptial dress, but Hough should definitely consider incorporating some of the gown’s gorgeous detailing, from the full skirt and off the shoulder neckline, to the elaborately beaded bust and embroidered skirt. And while Julianne is clearly a multi-tasking pro, a simple word of advice: get thee a potty partner to hold thy dress.
