As the creative director and president of mega-brand J.Crew, Jenna Lyons is one busy woman. And when New York Fashion Week rolls around, her calendar is back-to-back packed. Just 36 hours before she was scheduled to present her newest spring/summer 2017 collection for J.Crew, she did a photo shoot, talked with executives about new billboards in L.A. and the run of show and, finally, met about the fall catalog. Plus, she even managed to squeeze in a quick hug for a staffer’s baby — “I know I’m not supposed to be doing this right now, but I love her so much” — and some selfies, which she edited with her new favorite app, BeautyPlus.
Of course, some last-minute fittings were necessary for the collection, which she did with careful attention, debating whether or not a particular look needed to be hemmed. “It wouldn’t hurt to shorten it,” she said.
And when the presentation finally happened? Not a thread out of place.
