Jenna Dewan generally looks lovely on the red carpet, but the former Playboy Club star insists she doesn’t put too much thought into her looks.

“I’m a ‘less is more’ type of girl,” she told PEOPLE Thursday at the Los Angeles premiere of her husband Channing Tatum‘s new film, Haywire. “I only go to the events and the parties that I really, really want to go to, and I have a really great stylist that I work with, and that’s how I go about it.”

The actress does have a few requirements for her clothing, though: “I find something that fits, that feels comfortable and feels nice,” she shared. “And I go from there.”

It might sound boring, but Dewan promised she likes to have “fun” with fashion. “Anything that has … a little bit of flirtiness, some sex appeal to it, then that’s what I go to,” she explained. “I try and switch it up — I get really bored easily.”

That last statement is especially true with her hair, it seems. “I feel like I’m changing my hair every two weeks, and that’s something that has to stop,” she joked. “I feel like I’m in the salon every two weeks.” But the girl just can’t help it — she’s creative! “I like to try new trends,” she admitted, “and see what happens.”
