As we head into the long weekend, some of us are staring sadly at our overstuffed suitcases, wondering just how a few swimsuits and flip-flops managed to take up so much room. Ivanka Trump is not one of those people. As a businesswoman who travels constantly for work (and to support her dad on the campaign trail), the mom of three knows a thing or two about the art of traveling lightly. So she agreed to snap her perfectly-packed carry-on and share her best tips with us. You’ll never throw out a shoulder lifting your bag into the overhead bin again.

“I travel for work almost every week, which means I’ve got packing down to a science,” Trump tells PeopleStyle. “With summer in full swing, I’m hoping to sneak in at least one short vacation over the next several months! Whether you’re jetting off somewhere fun to enjoy some R&R or are preparing to travel for business, use the tips below to make packing one less thing to worry about before you leave.”

Bring Clothes That Won’t Wrinkle
“To avoid ironing in your hotel room, opt for easy fabrics that resist wrinkles. I love this floral scuba dress; it’s a great multipurpose piece. Whether you’re heading out on an adventure or spending the day in meetings, the flattering cut and feminine print make it a summer travel staple.”

Pack in a Palette
“I hate to check luggage — I avoid it at all costs. Instead, I pack separates in a coordinating palette so that I can mix and match throughout the trip. I will pack a skirt and top to wear together if I’m working, and then I’ll wear the top again with black pants for cocktails later.”

Take Shoes You Know You Can Walk In
“When you’re traveling for work, now is not the time to be daring in your footwear. A chic pair of flats is essential if you’ll be walking, and the Catti Sandal offers a great braided detail that’s perfectly on trend this season. As a bonus, these shoes press flat in a suitcase, taking up almost no room.”

Bring a Travel Companion that Multi-tasks
“I never leave home — let alone the state — without my Rio Tech Sleeve. It comes with a portable charger, so that I can juice up on the go, and the super-organized interior allows it to double as a wallet in my carry-on, and then serve as a clutch for dinners out during the trip.”

Enjoy the Amenities
“If I’m spending the weekend somewhere warm, you’ll likely find me with my kids by the pool during our downtime. This season, I’m opting for a scalloped maillot by Marysia. The brand offers amazing suits with incredibly flattering cuts. I’ll also bring a Turkish towel. It’s got the same absorbency of a regular towel, but it’s oversized, making it great to spread out for the kids—or use as a blanket on the plane. I just ordered a chic straw hat with a fun detail, and I’m always covered up with sunscreen and a pair of shades.”
