Solange Knowles told PEOPLE last month that she’s giving print mixing a rest, and we think we’ve figured out why: She’s passed the fashion-forward style torch to her older sister, Beyoncé!

It appears that Beyoncé, who’s known for her ultra-glam yet rather safe street style, is using Instagram to test out unexpected and edgy looks that take from Solange’s love of bold patterns and bright colors.

On Monday, the superstar shared a photo of herself (above, left) wearing a mustard-yellow sweater, paisley-print pajama-style pants, snakeskin pumps, a blue watch (an ode to her baby girl, perhaps?) and chained eyeglasses. It was an outfit that reminded us of the graphic H&M shirt-and-skirt combo Solange recently wore to an event (below).

A few days before, Bey showed off a second funky ensemble (above, right) consisting of a purplish-blue bomber jacket, leather shorts, leopard-print boots, quirky shades and an on-trend topknot.

If you check out the singer’s Instagram feed, you’ll find other snaps of her donning even more pieces seemingly inspired by her sis, including hunter green leather pants paired with a billowy blouse and beanie, another pair of paisley-print pants topped off with rabbit ears (yep, rabbit ears!) and a super-cool Mary Katrantzou dress.

Though to us, Beyoncé will always be the queen of sequins, sparkle and shine, we have to admit that we’re absolutely loving her new downtown, eclectic sense of style. Tell us: Do you think Solange has influenced Beyoncé’s style?
