In the midst of New York Fashion Week, while we were keeping up with the latest fashion happenings on Instagram, we scrolled past a photo of Ashley Olsen as a brunette — and then we did a double take. Were our eyes deceiving us, or did the Olsen twin dye her hair dark brown?

In a British Vogue Instagram photo for her fashion line The Row, as well as a party pic in the New York Times for The Row’s collaboration with Oliver Peoples, it appears that the designer might have left her sandy blonde strands behind — especially when compared to her sister, Mary-Kate. She may be experimenting a new hue, or she may just be giving her natural shade a try … or perhaps she just wants to make it impossible to do a cameo on Fuller House (different hair colors would make it awfully for Ashley and her sister to both pass for Michelle Tanner). Whatever the reason, we’re supportive.

The Olsen twin wasn’t the only star to switch up her strands. Looks like Grewig’s redhead days are over!

The actress went from her electric red shade to a strawberry blonde, which she debuted at the Berlinale International Film Festival in Berlin earlier this week. She also appears to be slowly growing out her shorter cut, wearing it shaggier and longer in front.

And finally, Alexa Chung shows off a choppy new cut, courtesy of celebrity hairstylist George Northwood, who is also the founder of his eponymous London-based salon.

@chungalexa said she wanted a shag…..so I have her a haircut,” he wrote on an Insta snap. “Congrats to my dear [pal] for her collaboration with @marksandspencer 👍🏼 #archivebyalexa.”

The star typically sports and all-one-length lob, so perhaps this is a harbinger of some bigger changes. What’s next: Athleisure? Flannels all the time? A pixie cut? The sky’s the limit.
