The supermodel reveals why she's happy keeping her private life private in a new interview

Supermodel Irina Shayk keeps quiet about her relationship with one of Hollywood’s leading men, Bradley Cooper, and in a new interview she’s revealing why.

“I have a lot of friends who share a lot of their personal life on Instagram or social media, very publicly. I admire it and I think it’s great – but I think it’s all about personal choice,” she tells Glamour UK in her new cover story. “Because my work requires me to be out there, I just decided my personal life will be quiet. That’s why it’s called personal, because it’s something for you and your family, and I feel happy with it.”

That also goes for discussing her daughter, Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper, who she welcomed with Cooper in March 2017. But in her new interview, she did give some insight on her life as a mom and what that means for her style.

“In this modern world, in the 21st century, I really believe that if you have a baby, it doesn’t mean that you have to wear a longer dress,” she said.

“One of my friends said, ‘Oh, you just posted a sexy picture. You’re a mum now!’ And I just said, ‘So what!’ I think it’s really about who you are, who you wanna be and I really feel you just have to stick to your thing. I don’t believe anyone should have to change just because you’re a mother! No, I’m still me!”

While she doesn’t mind keeping her sexy style for events, her off-duty looks are a lot different from the Shayk we see on runways and magazine covers.

“Irina off-duty is a scary horror movie,” Irina revealed. “It’s sweatpants, hair bun, no makeup – I literally never wear makeup. I kind of hate to wear it, because for work I have to wear a lot. I just stay in bed, watching Russian TV – I have three Russian channels in New York and I really love to keep up with my Russian soap operas!”

While Shayk is keeping her private life private, earlier this week Cooper opened up about fatherhood in his most candid interview yet during a chat with Oprah Winfrey for Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations from Times Square.

He revealed that he sometimes sees his own dad Charles — who died in 2011 after a battle with lung cancer — in his 22-month-old daughter, Lea De Seine.

“[Having a family has] changed everything. Our daughter, she’s incredible. And I see my father in her quite often. I can’t believe I’m gonna admit this, but I had moments when … I was in the room with her, I would say, ‘Dad?’ ” he continued. “There are some moments where she looks just like my father. I watch too many movies.”

He also talked about how his life has changed since having a family of his own. “[It] has opened me up even more, I guess, to the day, and to be present.”
