It’s officially scarf season! And since bundling up is the key to staying warm as temperatures drop, we’re offering up a quick refresher on how to do so, easily, and with step-by-step GIFs. Scroll down to check it out.

1. Simple Cowl-Neck Knot

HOW TO DO IT:

  • Start with the scarf draped around your neck with one end shorter than the other (this works best with a rectangular scarf)
  • Wrap it once around your neck
  • Tie it in a knot
  • Pull the wrapped portion of the scarf up and over so it hides the knot

2. The Loop-Through Knot

HOW TO DO IT:

  • Start with the scarf draped around your neck with one end shorter than the other (this works best with a rectangular scarf)
  • Pull the longer end over the shorter
  • While holding the scarf in place, pull the scarf back under the shorter end
  • Then loop that end from underneath up and over and into the loop
  • Pull and tighten

  • Take one end and pull it through the loop
  • Twist the loop
  • Pull the second end through the loop
