H&M Taps World's Sexiest Supermodels in New Ad, ModCloth Features First Transgender Model and More Style News
These stylish campaign ads will have you wishing for summer!
If you’re ready for warmer weather, lighter layers and summer music festivals, then these campaigns will get you excited. Some of the biggest clothing and accessories brands — H&M, Burberry and ModCloth — are featuring the busiest supermodels in the biz (and one brand-new face!) in new ads, and it’s time to check them out!
H&M cast four of the industry’s biggest players — Adriana Lima, Joan Smalls, Doutzen Kroes and Natasha Poly — for its bohemian-inspired summer campaign. In the beachy images shot by fashion photographer Lachlan Bailey, the professional catwalkers stroll along the shore in the line’s latest pieces, which include bikinis, flowy maxis, printed caftans and strappy sandals — all of which are perfect for this weekend’s Coachella festivities.
If a new pair of glasses are on your summer shopping list, Burberry has you covered. The British label’s dynamic duo Naomi Campbell and Jourdan Dunn are at it again, this time modeling the new eyewear line The Gabardine. In the photos, the pair embrace in a hug while wearing the different styles, which come in both optical and sunglasses frames and in a range of colors, sizes and materials.
Vintage-inspired online retailer ModCloth has cast a transgender model, Rye Silverman (who is also a writer and comedian) for its latest #Fashiontruth campaign. For her new gig, Rye was given her own page on the clothing brand’s website to showcase her personal style and share a little about herself.
“[My sense of style] evolves over time, but I think right now my best way of describing it is a bit of a quirky or edgy twist on vintage,” she shared regarding her style. “I love rockabilly-type stuff or circle skirts that have interesting prints on them. The two garments I currently get the most positive responses to are my Mewseum Visit Dress from ModCloth and my Pac-Man-themed circle skirt. I’ve noticed in the last year or so more and more of my skirts and dresses have fun prints. But when I’m kind of just looking for a more relaxed, chill look, I shift into a more ’90s vibe.”
And finally, Honor is showcasing its spring collection in the most visual way — via a film, starring Orange Is the New Black star Natasha Lyonne and Homeland‘s Morgan Saylor. The two actresses, who are also fans of Honor, star in the label’s short film, which was inspired by a “psychedelic fantasy,” according to designer Giovanna Randall. The movie, directed by Rachel Fleit in Glen Cove, N.Y., is all about the designer’s vision for the collection.
“Giovanna aims to make clothing good enough to eat,” Fleit said. “I wanted the film to be a sensorial experience: candy coated interiors, breathing walls, some magic, mystery and dancing, of course.”
