The supermodel says her scent will go with every outfit

“Makeup and perfumes were always very important in our home,” she tells PEOPLE. “My father worked for one of the biggest cosmetics companies in Germany and he was always bringing things home.” In fact, Klum even served as his intern for a while, filling bottles as they moved along conveyor belts and working on development and packaging.
“It was already interesting to me then,” she says. “And it’s amazing now that I have the opportunity to create my own fragrance that will be worn and smelled throughout the world.”
Klum’s first fragrance, Shine, hits Walgreens stores this month, and Klum says she’s “humbled” to be releasing her own signature scent. “It is such an amazing process to create a fragrance from scratch and help advise which route the ‘nose’ will go,” she shares, adding that she created everything from the scent and bottle to the packaging and commercial.
An “ultra feminine” fragrance, it incorporates notes of warm amber, vanilla and lily of the valley. “It’s for a woman that enjoys life and whose radiance glows from the inside,” Klum says. “To me, Shine is about the confidence, joy and the wit of a woman’s personality. A woman like that ‘shines.'”
Klum, who “never feels complete” until she spritzes on a scent, promises her fragrance will match every outfit, too. “Even Michael Kors gave me his seal of approval,” she boasts. “And we all know how critical he can be … wink wink!”
