Find out what the model is packing for the three-day music festival extravaganza
The countdown to Coachella is on, and Hailey Baldwin is preparing for the weekend by packing all the essentials — sunscreen, water, lip balm and, of course, her Levi’s cutoffs.
The 22-year-old model just teamed up with the iconic denim brand to star its annual 501 jeans campaign, which celebrates the brand’s signature (and first-ever) jean style, the 501, which founder Levi Strauss created in 1873.
But in true influencer fashion, she gave the signature style her own look with Coachella-ready neon accents on the cutoff shorts and customization featuring her name down the leg on the pants. “I think it’s probably the most iconic piece of clothing there is — I remember how amazing the fit was on my first pair. They’ve been my favorite ever since.” (Customization stations are available at Levi’s Tailor Shops worldwide.)
So naturally, she’s packing her must-have version — the 501 cutoff — to hit the desert for the Coachella Music and Arts Festival this upcoming weekend. “To me the perfect 501 cutoff has to do with the fit, the length, how it makes the booty look,” she said in the video.
She also showed off her packing skills in the rest of the clip, and says she’s stashing a Levi’s hoodie in her suitcase, “because it gets pretty chilly at night,” as well as Trucker jacket, a “cool” Hawaiin shirt and T-shirts to round out her 3-day desert wardrobe.
The celebration of Levi’s 146th birthday kicks off at Coachella and continues through May 20, when the brand hosts a big birthday celebration. “Hailey embodies that authentic and optimistic self-expression we felt represented the broad appeal of the 501® jean.” Jennifer Sey, Chief Marketing Officer Global Brands, Levi Strauss &Co., said in a statement about the new face of the campaign.
“She’s one of the most authentic and loved girls in fashion, so who better to put in one of fashion’s most iconic products?” added Karyn Hillman, Chief Product Officer Global Brands, Levi Strauss & Co.
