Gwyneth Paltrow Wears a Ponytail on the Red Carpet (Yes, You Read That Correctly)
See the star's unexpected updo
If we asked you what the most surprising celebrity hair move was this week you’d probably answer with Kylie Jenner’s green extensions or maybe you’d pick Katy Perry who wore two wigs in one night. Turns out, another star just topped them! Gwyneth Paltrow wore a ponytail! That’s right — the queen of the straight, center-parted blowout went all updo on us.
We’ll give you a brief moment to gather your thoughts. Ready? Okay.
The 42-year-old star stepped out sporting a very new-to-her hair style — an elegant ponytail — at the Broad Museum Black Tie Inaugural Dinner in L.A. Thursday evening. She paired her pony with a structured white printed top, a pair of black high-waisted trousers and some sparkling Norman Silverman Diamonds earrings. (Maybe that’s why she pulled her hair back?)
Fans of the Goop founder know that the Paltrow pony is pretty much non existent. The star almost never strays from her go-to down and straight strands.
“She loves straight hair,” her hair stylist David Babaii previously told InStyle. “Not too many people can pull off a sharp center part.”
So does the style switch-up mean we should expect more mane experimentation from the star? Probably not, but it certainly would be fun to see her sport this season’s celeb-loved hair fad: bangs!
What do you think of the star’s unexpected updo? Do you prefer the star with her hair down or like this, in a ponytail? Sound off in the comment section below!
