The groom-to-be was "mesmerized" by the pear-shaped diamond he selected for his Bachelorette, jeweler Neil Lane told PEOPLE at the time. For his part, Lane selected a ring with vintage-feeling tapered baguettes with the bride-to-be in mind: "I went back in time because she's a classical beauty," he explained.

Though Michelle Young said she was "very happy" with Nayte Olukoya after he got down on one knee in Punta Mita, Mexico, their bliss wasn't long-lived: Olukoya eventually dumped her over the phone after a fight. He told Nick Viall on The Viall Files that they'd been discussing a breakup since shortly after their televised engagement, and by the time he ended things, "It wasn't our first time having breakup conversations. It was probably our third time having a breakup conversation."

Clare Crawley's Bachelorette journey came to an end mid-season when she declared Dale Moss was the only guy for her - and he agreed, popping the question with the monster ring Lane scrambled to make for him. "She had made up her mind and I had to design the ring in record time – it was stressful and crazy, but crazy fun," Lane tells PEOPLE. "I had time to make just one perfect 'Wow' ring."

After a rocky few months, the two reunited and seemed happier than ever (even putting the ring back on!) — but split again for good in Sept. 2021.

Her ring had many of the hallmarks of a Bachelorette ring -- the halo setting around a 3.5-carat stone, the intricate diamond pavé -- but it also had the unique element of a rose gold band woven into the platinum, "just as [the winner and his fiancé] are two people wrapped into one couple and forever entwined," Lane says.
