Golden Globes 2016: The Best Afterparty Dresses of the Night
As if the pressure of landing of the Golden Globes red carpet Best Dressed list isn’t enough, there are also the afterparties to consider — after all, if your dress weighs 35 pounds or has a long train, you might want to streamline things a bit. And while there were a ton of must-see party dresses (check out all 31 here!), Jennifer Lawrence’s mini moment, Kate Bosworth‘s strapless swap and Caitriona Balfe’s on-trend gowns completely stole the show.

Outlander‘s Caitriona Balfe undoubtedly got the Golden Globes style memo of the night: cleavage, cleavage and more cleavage. She swapped a ruffled, sheer, deep-V red carpet number for a statuesque white column (equally plunging!) gown at the InStyle/Warner Bros. party.

Best Actress winner Lawrence switched from her obliques-baring Dior Haute Couture red carpet gown for a leggy slip dress (a.k.a. the perfect party dress in which to celebrate a third Golden Globe win!) at the Fox/Hulu afterparty. She kept the accessories nice and simple too with a black embellished clutch and ankle-strap Jimmy Choo sandals, because when you’re carrying around the hottest hardware of the night, not much else is needed!

And finally, Kate Bosworth cemented her Best Dresses status before she even hit the red carpet with her twirling Instagram snap, and her afterparty look didn’t fall flat either. She chose Dolce & Gabbana for both, first wearing a pink strapless gown with silver crystal embellishments, then switching into an embroidered bustier-style top with a chic matchstick pant for the InStyle/Warner Bros. party (and choosing Norman Silverman diamonds for both). She even played around with her beauty look, changing her soft pink lip (which matched her ceremony dress) to a bolder, party-ready red lip after.
