It was a night of firsts for Jennifer Lopez. The star not only stepped out of her red carpet style comfort zone in a totally un-J.Lo marigold-hued Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown, but she also paired the sunshine-y design with a complementary maroon lip, leaving her preferred smoky eye/nude lip combo behind.

BEST MONOCHROMATIC MAKEUP MOMENT

Matchy-matchy was having a major moment on the red carpet, but it was Olivia Wilde's all-over smoky eye that stood out from all the rest. The shimmery pink eye shadow was a perfect pairing with her plunging scarlet Michael Kors Collection dress.

MOST INTRICATE UPDO

Celebrity hairstylist Mark Townsend added mega body to Rachel McAdams's textured chignon using Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo. He then pinned her hair back into a twisted bun,  teased at the crown for extra volume and finished the look with Dove Style + Care Strength and Shine Extra Hold Hairspray for extra shine and hold.

BEST MANE MAKEOVER

Every great awards show starts with a red carpet haircut debut. This one's was Kate Hudson's “modern, jagged and crazy” lob, which was the result of a seven-inch chop by her mane man and ghd brand ambassador David Babaii. “Let's go for it,” he said before giving the star a cut he called “a combination of Sharon Stone in Casino and Kim Basinger in 9 1/2 Weeks.”

BEST OLD HOLLYWOOD GLAM

Bold red lips and glossy waves aren't exactly groundbreaking when it comes to red carpet beauty, but that doesn't mean we didn't love Amber Heard's take on the look, from the faux bob to the ruby matte lip.

You can never accuse Rooney Mara of playing it safe with her red carpet hairstyles. And her slicked-back, two-level “deconstructed braid” by celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel is certainly no exception.

We can't tell if it's the result of a complexion-enhancing beauty product or just her post-engagement glow, but whatever the reason, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wins the award for best sun-kissed skin.

Her husband's floppy do initially got us talking, but Jenna Dewan-Tatum's sparkling hair accessory kept us buzzing through the night! The star's hairstylist, Jen Atkin, added a glittering pin to her client's intricate updo to play off Jenna's celestial Zuhair Murad gown.

The secret to Katy Perry's majorly teased half-updo? A Bumpit (and OSiS+ Volume Up, applied by Franco Gobbi). “I have an as-seen-on-TV Bumpit in here,” the singer confessed to Jennifer Lawrence on the red carpet. (We imagined how good it would look on The Rock, Eddie Redmayne and more.)

Since her Yves Saint Laurent Couture by Hedi Slimane gown had such a goddess-y vibe, it made sense that Saoirse Ronan's stylist Adir Abergel went for an equally Grecian-inspired style by weaving gold-threaded braids together in the back, then adding one more level of shine via John Frieda Frizz Ease Polishing Serum.
